Unreal Candy: Candy Without All The Junk (Review)

My family and I were given the opportunity to review Unreal Candy, but before I tell you about my review I would like to tell you a little about Unreal Candy and how they came up with this idea.

The story behind Unreal Candy started when Michael and his son Nicky got into a disagreement over how much Halloween candy he was allowed to eat. His dad told him candy’s not good for you. Nicky decided to prove his dad wrong. He knew candy wasn’t the best food choice to eat, but he thought, how bad could it really be. Nicky decided to do some research on his own and what he found convinced him his dad was right. Reading how bad hydrogenated oils, corn syrup, artificial colors, flavors and preservatives are for you, he was convinced there had to be another solution to making candy. Why was it necessary to add all those bad things in? This inspired Nicky and his dad, Michael to travel to Europe to research solutions for unjunking candy. There they worked with top scientists and chefs all across Europe. This was the beginning of how Unreal Candy was developed.

They tested hundreds of recipes and finally narrowed it down to five different candies. What they came up with is a healthy alternative candy option called Unreal. They unjunked candy. No partially hydrogenated oils, no GMOs, no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. They reduced sugar by 40% per serving on average. They use real chocolate, real caramel, more peanuts, protein and fiber. They also use only Dairy from cows that are grass-fed. Cows with no antibiotics or added hormones. Why you might ask would they go to all this trouble? Because it’s the right thing to do. For the environment and for people. What they have done for candy is outstanding. It makes you ask yourself, why aren’t all the candy companies doing this?

Now I am a huge Chocolate Candy lover. I love my chocolate, so I was pleasantly surprised to find that they are delicious. So yummy and I felt better about eating it knowing that it didn’t contain all the junk that are in regular candy. They are most definitely comparable to the candy currently on the market. I let my family try it without telling them first that it actually is kind of good for you. I wanted to get their responses before I told them about the candy. I waited for their reaction and it was all good. They liked the taste and my son asked for more. This says a lot. I didn’t hear any complaints about it tasted funny or different. They loved them. My 11 year-old son’s favorite was the Chocolate Peanut Butter and my daughters was the Chocolate Caramel Peanuts Nougat. I loved all of them, but if I had to pick a favorite it would be the Candy Chocolate Shell Peanuts. Yummo!!!!
