Did you know that according to the FBI, a burglary occurs every 15 seconds. Are you surprised to learn that most intruders will enter the front door of your home? According to the FBI Crime Report, 34% will use the front door, 23% of intruders will enter through a first floor window. 22% will use the back door and 9% the garage entrances. Are you protected?
Growing up in the 1970′s we would have thought nothing about leaving the door unlocked when we left home or even when we went to sleep. We felt secure in our neighborhood, but the twenty-first century is a lot different then back in the 70′s and with crime on the rise, friends and families are turning to Home Security Products to protect their loved ones and their property.
I started thinking about Home Security products when I moved to my new home in 2006. I was downsizing from a large home in the country that I had lived in for 16 years to a home in town. Within 1 week of moving in, my home was burglarized. It turned out to be a 15-year-old neighbor who was eventually prosecuted, but ever since I have been using Home Security products to protect my family and property.
One of the things I immediately installed was a door alarm on the front and back. Now mind you, it wasn’t a real expensive unit, but it has done the job. Lately, I’ve been thinking about installing additional home security products, so when I had the opportunity to check out the Home Security Store online, I discovered some products that were one affordable, two easy to install and three come with excellent customer/technical service support.
At the Home Security Store you will find Home Security products to meet your every need, like window and door alarms, security surveillance cameras, motion detectors, driveway alarms, security lights, home automation products, environmental controls, video baby monitors, and they even carry child locator’s if God forbid your child goes missing. And one thing I was surprised to see that they carried are survival kits. These survival kits are perfect if you live in an area with hurricanes, tornadoes or just want to be prepared for a disaster situation no matter where you live.
While browsing the Home Security Store for a while, I ran across something I’ve been meaning to purchase since I’ve moved to my new home six years ago and I hate to admit, just plain forgot about. An emergency ladder for my second story window. I found the First Alert Fire Escape Ladder for $49.99. A small price to pay for something that could save my family’s life. I especially need it now more than ever since my daughter is having a baby and will be living in the upstairs bedroom.
And mentioning the baby, I checked out the Baby Monitors. They carry some with video monitoring and some without. I’m adding the Levana one to my wish list. (LV-TW501 Levana Advanced Digital Wireless Video Baby Monitor). This baby is the BMW of baby monitors. Some of its features include:
- ClearVu(R) Digital Wireless Technology
- Temperature Monitoring to Ensure Safety
- Talk-to-Baby Intercom
- 5 Soothing Lullabies
- Night Vision
- Relaxing Night Light
- Sound Activated Vibration
Browsing The Home Security Store brought to mind all the things that can happen, honestly, a lot of things I wouldn’t never even have thought of without looking at all the Home Security products available today. Don’t put off today to take the steps needed to protect your family and property. And don’t forget to let your insurance company know if you install a home security system. Many will offer home owners insurance discounts. Just another advantage to take the first step to protect your loved ones and property.
Don’t become a another crime statistic. Visit the Home Security Store online and gain the peace of mind that whether you’re home or not, your family and property are securely protected.

Sadly we do not live in the world we used to. Stinks for the children at least I think. Neighbors had things stolen people down the road too, it’s awful here lately. Random junk like metal and copper, etc but still it sucks to know someone is lurking around your property …

I know where I live there has been an increase in crime. Especially thieves stealing metal and copper.

We have had tools taken out of our garage, it is a horrible feeling knowing that someone could just come in and take whatever they want, very scary! They do have a lot of great security products!

Growing up and even now (I think) my parents don’t lock their doors and they leave the keys in their cars when they’re at home! Now I don’t do any of that!! We lock our house but sadly we don’t have any security measures in place… we should though!

I’m guilty about leaving my keys in the car. My family says, what good is a security system if your going to leave the housekey in the car where they get to it. So true!

My home was broken into years ago. It was kids also. I have not ever had an alarm system, but will be thinking about it when we move into our new house in November.

I always thought my dogs would be enough to prevent anyone from stealing from us, but our trampoline was taken right from our yard! I know it would be different if someone tried to come inside though. I would like to get some sort of security system. I’ve also been considering purchasing a gun now that Jake is older.

Your trampoline. WOW! I can’t believe someone would be that brave to take something as big as that.

Our home was broken in to and we had a security system, but not all our entry points were properly protected. It sucked. We felt horrible and my children, over 2 yrs later, still talk about it.

We have a great alarm system on our home – we’ve never been burglarized but I know it can happen, even with an alarm – but it’s a great deterrent. (Our two huge barking dogs also seem to help) Great post though – excellent products.

Thanks for this info. I live in a gated community and thought that would be enough. When one of my neighbors was robbed in the middle of the day, I decided I needed a home security system. The neighbors door was kicked in, but no one knew as no alarm went off. Scary.

Wow, that is scary. You can never be to safe. I’m getting some alarms for my windows installed. I guess even if you live in a gated community it can still happen, but that would be the last place I would think of a break in happening. I guess no matter where you live, a home security system is a good idea.

Wow, those stats are kinda scary especially that someone would be bold enough to use the front door. I would have thought the garage or window would be more common. Right now the only security system we have in place is my gun toting husband.
