I almost killed Jaws Today!
Jaws is one of my son’s Pet Fishes. He’s a Betta, also called a Chinese Fighting Fish. My son wanted me to add the glow in the dark rocks I bought for him to his fish tanks this afternoon. So I added the rock and walked out of the room to start dinner. I happened to walk back into the room where the fish tanks are and saw something slimy looking on the table. I reached out and touched it and it jumped. I screamed and realized it was one of the Betta Fishes from the Fish Tank.
OMG!
My son came running and was able to get it back into the tank. I know that fish had to have laid there for a good 15 to 20 minutes outside the tank and it’s still alive! I think it’s in Shock. I know I am even though it’s just a fish. It must have jumped out when I was putting the rock inside the tank. I remember slipping my hand into the water to place the rocks just so and all I can figure, because the water is to the top of the tank, is that the fish went over the side. That’s my best guess. I think I’m as traumatized as the Fish. I hope he is as tough as his namesake and makes it through the night. Will update in the a.m.
JAWS UPDATE
I’m glad to report he made it through the night and is going to make it. He is now our official miracle fish! And I’m glad I don’t have to live with the guilt of being a fish murderer, LOL!

OH my gosh, that is hysterical! I would totally do something like that. I’m so glad he’s ok though! That would be sad for you all!

So glad to hear that he is alive and well! We’ve had fish jump out of our tank before and sadly one didn’t make it

Oh my goodness, I’m so glad your fish is ok! lol I would never be able to keep a fish alive. My ex has salt water fish and my boys love seeing them.

I am glad to see Jaws is still ok. Beta fish are one of the strongest fish around for some reason. LOL. That is why they can live in a glass bowl with no filtration system what so ever.
