Homemade Hot Chocolate Mix

Hot Chocolate

October is my favorite month of the year. I’m loving the cooler weather and enjoying the beautiful fall foliage here in Tennessee. And this is the time of the year that I love to pull out my yarn and begin all my winter crocheting projects. I’m also preparing all of my favorite winter recipes which many I will package for Christmas gift baskets. Here is my favorite recipe for Homemade Hot Chocolate Mix.

Homemade Hot Chocolate Mix

3 cups nonfat dry milk powder
2 cups powdered sugar
1½ cups cocoa powder
1½ cups chocolate or white chips
¼ teaspoon salt

1. Whisk everything together. Place in a food processor and pulse until Chocolate Chips are finely ground up. Store in an airtight container.

 2. To make hot cocoa, Use 1/3 cup of the cocoa mix and stir in 1 cup of hot milk. Top with whipped cream or miniature marshmallows.

Store your Homemade Cocoa mixture in an airtight container.

I like to store mine in Mason Jars and add a ribbon and pretty card with instructions to be ready to give as Christmas gifts.
