Welcome to the World Christian Wayne!
My beautiful daughter delivered a healthy, gorgeous baby boy she named Christian Wayne on October 1st! He weighed 5# 14oz. Both mom and baby are home now happy and healthy. I am so proud to be a grandma again. There’s nothing better in the world then holding your grandchild in your arms. They live with me, so I will get to see this little one’s sweet face everyday and I couldn’t be more proud.
My daughter woke me up at 4 am October 1st and told me her water had broke. At this point there was no pain, so we both took showers and got ready to go to the hospital. By 5 am when we left for the hospital she was doubled over in pain and crying hurry mom. So we jump in the car. It was dark, raining and my daughter was in pain. I turned on my flashers and drove as fast as I could go safely. It was just like you see in the movies. I was excited and thrilled it was finally time for her to have her baby and part of me was terrified for her because she was in so much pain. When she told me she was feeling pressure I prayed please don’t let her have it in the car. We arrived at the hospital and I quickly grabbed her a wheelchair and rushed her up to Labor and Delivery. She was in pain big time. They put her in the traditional hospital gown, checked her to see how far she was dilated. At 5:45 am she was dilated to 4 and effaced 80%. They told her it would be 7 am before she could get her epidural. By 6:30 I was helping her breath in and out through the contractions. I felt so helpless watching my daughter endure the gripping pain of each contraction and being unable to do anything about it.
Finally at 6:45 am she received her epidural and it was like night and day. She went from being in excruciating pain to smiling and fixing her makeup and hair. Thank you God for epidurals.
By 7 am she was dilated to 6 and 90% effaced. She was laughing and talking on her phone and waiting expectantly to meet her baby boy. What a relief to see her out of pain.
At 8 am she was dilated to 7 and almost completely effaced. Family and friends dropped by to visit and welcome her baby boy into the world.
At 10:15 am she was dilated to 10 and completely effaced so they had her start pushing and at 10:39 am Baby Christian entered the world weighing 5# 14 oz. He was 19 1/2 inches long. His apgar was a 9-10. He was perfect and healthy.
I cut the cord and watched in awe as my daughter became a mother. There’s nothing more beautiful in the world then to witness the birth of a child and the love between mother and child.
My daughter held her son for the first time and tears of joy coursed down her face as she cuddled her son close to her chest and experienced for the first time, the unconditional love between a mother and her child.
My heart was bursting with pride as I carried Christian to the baby nursery. I was in awe of the beauty of a new life. It really makes your heart jump for joy seeing a new life enter the world and take its first breath. How could anyone not believe in God?
When the nurse finished tending to my new grandson I reached down to touch his little hand and he gripped my finger with his tiny hand. I cooed and talked to him calling him by his new name Christian and he turned his head towards my face, opened his eyes staring into mine as though to say, “Hello Grandma” and he stole my heart forever.
Mom and baby are now home and we all have been settling into a routine around the house. So far, he really has never cried. Of course, we are hovering around him just waiting to meet his every need. LOL! He’s going to be one spoiled little boy, but of course that is a grandmothers job right?
I also have 4 other grandchildren I am so proud of too. Landin, Shelby, Jayden and Aubree.

Thanks TerriAnn! We are thrilled to have him here. The photos took a while to get just right. I think they take longer then the writing does.
