Dyson’s Newest Technological Invention: Epic Fail!

Dyson’s Newest Technological Invention turns out the be an epic fail!

On the Today show, Sir James Dyson the inventor of the famous Dyson Vacuum introduced to the world his newest invention, the Dyson Airblade Tap hand dryer. He claims that it is the first sink where you can wash your hands and dry them without having to go to a separate area, preventing wet drips in the floor. Wow, I can see why it is the first and in my opinion hopefully the last and here’s why.

Dyson Latest Invention

First off, the idea of combining running water with electricity is not something I’m a fan of, especially if kids will be using it. Just imagine your 4 year old at the sink with one hand under the running water and the other under the dryer area. A recipe for disaster.

What’s really hysterical about this invention as I watched it being demonstrated on The Today Show with Matt Lauer near by was during the demonstration, after Dyson washed his hands and then proceeded to dry them, water was blown out all over Matt making causing him to jump back. So instead of the water drips on the floor he claims this will prevent you’ll only end up with water spots all over your clothes.

Then as the interview came to a close, Matt praised the idea of not having to touch anything to get your business done, yet he asked, where’s the touchless soap dispenser? Woops!! Dyson smiled and said that’s a very good idea, as the studio burst out laughing. He realized his biggest goof. Why didn’t he think of that?

And the design is absolutely bulky and ugly and is shaped like an arrow!

This is a epic fail on every level. I think the popular cutting edge technology Dyson company needs to go back to the drawing board and rethink the entire design or maybe Sir James Dyson should just stick to Vacuum Cleaners.

Oh yes, it definitely sounds like it needs some tweaking. Back to the drawing board! The standalone hand dryers work very well and I LOVE my Dyson vac, but I agree with you on the combination of water and electricity… not so brilliant.
